IMPORTANT: COVID-19 Cooking School Information

If you are not feeling well we ask you not to attend your workshop and contact us as soon as possible. You will be able arrange for a place in another workshop at a later date or a credit held for up to 12 months.

We assure all of our customers that if any of our teachers are unwell, we will postpone the class and the teacher will be asked to provide negative test results for COVID-19.

Our class numbers have now been changed to a total of 6 students, and 1 teacher, to allow for appropriate social distancing (1 person per 4 square metres). This is in accordance to the Government and Work Safe Australia guidelines. 

We are also taking the extra measures of supplying gloves and hand sanitisers during all classes, and maintain social distancing throughout the class. Our workshop format will be altered to focus on individual work when using raw food, and our group work will be minimised for two per group for cooked recipes. 

All students will be required to sign in at the beginning of the class, and we will hold onto student contact information in case we need to get in touch.

Due to reduced numbers we anticipate that classes will run for a slightly shorter time than advertised. However, there will be no difference in the recipes you will make, the information you receive or the quality of the classes. It is likely you will receive more individual attention from the teacher and there will be more time for questions with fewer people.

During this time we are committed to ongoing review and monitoring of our new health and safety procedures to stay in line with government advice. We will keep our students updated and informed of any changes.


Where are the workshops held?

All our workshops are held at Cornersmith Picklery, 441 Illawarra Road, Marrickville corner of Warren Road.

Parking and public transportation

We don’t have allocated parking, but we are located in a residential area. There are no parking meters or parking restrictions on Warren Road or Renwick Street.

We are in walking distance from Marrickville train station and the 423 bus stops a few meters from our door. 

What to bring:

We will provide you with everything that you need. In all our classes you will make things to take home. Sometimes there is excess made, so it is a good idea to bring a few extra containers or jars, and a carry bag to take everything home in.

What to wear:

The only requirement is closed toe flat shoes. We will provide aprons.

What to expect in a Cornersmith workshop:

All our workshops are relaxed and hands-on with a focus on home cooking skills. We keep our numbers small to maximise your experience, and engagement with the topic and the teacher. In all our classes you will make a minimum of three recipes, with some to enjoy in class and the rest to take home. You will leave with the knowledge and confidence to continue your cooking adventures at home. You will be provided with refreshments and a light snack during the class.

Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements when making your booking.

Cancellation policy

We have a strict 14-day cancellation/transfer policy. Workshop bookings are non-refundable, but you are welcome to send someone in your place. Please ensure that you have read our cancelation policy. Click here to read more.

Redeeming gift vouchers

Our gift vouchers are not redeemable online. If you have a gift voucher and would like to book into a class, you will need to contact the Picklery on (02) 8964 7463 or email info@cornersmith.com.au with your voucher number, your name, phone number and the name and date of the workshop you would like to attend.
