Smoking and BBQ

Ditch that smoked liquid stuff! From the low and slow method of backyard smoking to the quick and simple technique of stove-top smoking, you will be surprised by how simple it is to create complex smoky flavours at home. 

In this class you will learn the secrets of mixing a spice rub to prepare a piece of ethically raised meat for our smoker. Learn how to turn your frypan into an excellent home smoker so you can impart that smoky flavour into fish, nuts and cheeses in a pinch! And since no barbecue is complete without a good sauce, we will teach you how to Make a seasonal smoked barbecue sauce to smother over just about anything.

In this class you will:

  • Learn how to make a spice rub
  • Smoke and take home a piece of ethically raised meat
  • Make and take home a smoked barbecue sauce
  • Discuss how to get different flavours using woods, rice or tea
  • Snack on a spread of smoked goodness
